Identification Card
In order to obtain an Electronic ID Card, it is mandatory to submit the required documents to the Consulate General of Georgia in person by making an appointment.
The following documents must be submited in order to receive a Electronic ID Card:

A Copy of an Identity Document;
- In the case that an electronic photograph (size: 35 x 45 mm) is not provided during the online appointment scheduling process, it must be presented on a flash drive during the in person visit at the consulate;
- PREPAID ENVELOPE - with a return address and tracking number if you wish for the passport to be received by mail;
A consular officer has the right to demand a photo identity confirmation by a third party or inform the citizen of a possibility of such a procedure, especially if the previous passport was issued over 10 years ago or if the citizen owns an old, discontinued version of the Georgian passport which did not include their biometric data at the time of issuance.
In the case that your name or surname has changed while living in a foreign country on the basis of a registered civil act (Ex. marriage, divorce, etc.), you must present an apostilled document(s) on the basis of which the name or surname was changed or other apostilled notices that demonstrate name or surname change;
Please note that an Electronic ID card is issued within 45 days after the application and necessary documents are submitted. The ID card has a 4 year validity for minors and a 10 year validity for adults.
